Welcome back from your long weekend!
HW: None :)
Journal: Reinhold Hanning, a 94-year-old former Auschwitz concentration camp guard is currently on trial in Germany for 170,000 counts of accessory to murder more than 70 years after his crimes were committed at the height of World War II. He could receive a sentence of life in prison. What are your feelings on this trial? Do you feel Hanning should be held accountable so many years after his crimes? Should he be imprisoned? Think about the purpose of prison and why we use this form of punishment. Make an argument for what you believe would be an appropriate punishment.
